K KUTTA - Gettin’ WV Music Out Of WV

Posted in business, wv, entrepreneur, createwv, music, abetterwv by uen on October 28th, 2010

One of the cool things about doing the On Air! podcast show is that you get to meet alot of cool people. K KUTTA is the definition of cool. I had the pleasure of interviewing K KUTTA at the Create WV conference where he performed for those in attendance.

K KUTTA calls Huntington, WV home and specializes in hip-hop/rap. DJ Testarosa presents West Virginia's street hero K KUTTA starring in the "Bake Sale" co-hosted by Shawty Whats My Name along with special features from OJ DA Juiceman, Brisco, 2 Pistols, DJ Scream and Gorilla Zoe. I have to say it is very well done and must listen. Check out K KUTTA's latest album called "Bake Sale".

K KUTTA spends alot of time in pursuit of his mission of "Getting WV music out of WV". He is not only trying to make a name for himself but helping others along the way by identifying other musical talent in WV and giving them an opportunity to get noticed. There are several ways he is going about pursuing his mission.

First, he and his business partner Justin Simmons started WV Soul Magazine two years ago. Their new magazine has made a big splash and is flying off store shelves. Be sure to check it out at www.wvsoulmagazine.com. Another idea he is putting together is an Urban Music Summit called "The Grind". It will be an opportunity to gather those who are interested in getting noticed and having a way to promote their music.

It was a great interview and I am very excited about what K KUTTA is doing to "Get WV music out of WV". Be sure to follow K KUTTA on Twitter @kkutta and on Facebook at facebook.com/kkutta. Keep your eyes open for K KUTTA playing in West Virginia and other venues outside the state. You can always catch him at the Last Chance Bar and Grill in Huntington, WV. Be sure to check him out and get out there and support local home grown music from West Virginia.
